Bishop Ricard
Blesses site of
Future Gymnasium
The legacy of Educating the Total Child in Mind, Body, andSpirit started 50 years ago by the Sisters of theRessurrection will need the help of families, friends, Alumni, and Community Partners in Education to reach its 50th Anniversary Goal of building a new gymnasium.
The ceremonial groundbreaking on the site of the new gymnasium helps kick off a year of events celebrating St. John Catholic School’s 50th Anniversary. Attention will be turning toward fundraising efforts to raise $1,640,100 to construct a new gymnasium. Sharing the Vision and Growing in Faith is the goal Bishop John Ricard and Fr. George Zieba are both dedicated to with St. John the Evangelist Parish. The Diocese and Parish will be working with the school to help them achieve the school’s goal needed for construction. St.John Students Welcome Pope Benedict
Pope Benedict XVI received a welcoming message from St. John Catholic School Students during his first visit to America.
Bishop John Ricard chose the culturally diverse group of students to represent the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallhassee, Florida in a 90-second video message. The students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade sent greetings and appreciation to the Church’s Shepherd in different languages. Every Catholic Diocese was asked to send a welcoming video to Washington to be shown as part of an expanded video prior to the Pope celebrating Mass with thousands of people in Washington DC.
The historical visit during April 2008 coincided with Pope Benedict’s 81st birthday. Watch Video...
