St.John Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
"Work Together. Play Together. Pray Together"
The Purpose of the PTO is:
- To promote goodwill between and among parents, faculty, administration, staff, School Advisory Council and the organizations of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community.
- To promote a clearer understanding of the mutual spiritual and educational responsibilities of parents and teachers, and to encourage the home and School to a greater degree of cooperation in discharging their responsibilities.
- To direct and coordinate parental support to the School through assistance activities, social functions, and fundraisers.
- To interest the public sentiment in the welfare of the School.

President's Remarks by Christine Walker November 1, 2008
Dr. Parents and Teachers, As we buzz around campus like busy bees dropping off and picking up our children it’s difficult for some parents to get to know the friendly faces whom we greet each morning with a friendly hello. “The Fabulous Fifties” Harvest Festival is a great opportunity to get to know one another as our St. John Community comes together for a fun day with our family and friends while helping our school. This year’s Festival is also a fantastic opportunity for you to be an ambassador to our school. Please invite friends, your co-workers with small children, and extended family to come experience the Spirit of St. John School. This kind of school spirit is uniquely ours and has lasted 50 years because of the dedicated teachers and parents who are so willing to all Work Together, Pray Together, and Play Together to help make a difference in the classrooms. Please know the success of our Festival has much to do with the time, talent, and treasures of Festival Chair Tonya Thompson, Sponsorship Chair Susan Higby, Silent Auction Chair Becky Moore, Festival T-shirt Chairs Marta Nunez and Paula Overstreet, and Homeroom Mother Coordinator Jennifer Gilley, Festival Dinner/Live Auction Chairs Nancy Lampkin and Ceci Salaveria, Concessions Chair Jodi Auteri, and Student Volunteer Coordinator Melaine Walters, and the Life Teen ministry which will be providing childcare at the dinner. It has been my privilege to be a volunteer with so many organized and caring parents who have devoted many hours and weeks planning every detail of the festival. I look forward to seeing all of our families at this major event.
